Angela has worked in the human services field for over 25 years with a variety of clientele in diverse environments. She has worked as a Residential Counselor in a group home setting for developmentally disabled clients, Social Worker at a Eating Disorder facility, Social Worker on a Neuropsychology Unit, a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, a Residential Counselor for troubled teenagers in group homes, an Addiction Counselor at the Hartford Dispensary Methadone Clinic, a Juvenile Detention Officer for the State of Connecticut, Founder of Break-in-Free Ministries and is currently employed as a Licensed Addiction Drug Counselor for the Department of Correction in a all male prison facility. In May of 2015 she graduated from UCONN School of Social Work with a Masters degree. She has also obtained her license as a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker). She is a Licensed Addiction Drug Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Substance Abuse Professional, Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor and Owner/Therapist at A Journey To- Wholeness, LLC. where she specializes in helping clients on their path to sobriety and mental freedom.
Although, She has a great deal of experience in the human services field which has given her insight into the variety of challenges one can encounter in life. Most of her learning has been through life experience. She understands what it is like to be confined in a mental prison for many years which led to hopelessness and despair. However, when she surrendered her life to her higher power (God), a little over 20 years ago He set her free from the emotional pain; she endured most of her life. Although, She was Ordained as a Pastor and pastored for 3 years, she has a unique gift of making all clients feel comfortable , regardless of personal beliefs, faith, or sexual orientation.
