Whenever I see a death notice that reads "untimely sudden death", I begin to wonder... was it an overdose? I know there could have been other reasons for an untimely death, but as of recent years the opiate epidemic has reached astronomical proportions.
Overdose at one time was a subject that was rarely discussed. Unfortunately, now it is being discussed at the dinner table, on social media, the news outlets and even politicians are talking about it.
Why is this you ask? It is because "everybody knows somebody". It does not matter if you are a middle age Caucasian business man, a 23 year old college student, or a 15 year old middle school student. Everyone knows someone that has been impacted by addiction.
The unfortunate reality is this... if a person does not seek help, to find the "root cause" of their addiction, the overdoses will continue. There will be no one on this earth that has not been personally impacted by this "stealer of dreams" called addiction.
